Filipino Healthcare Professionals are Integral Part of US Healthcare Workforce says Federal Communications Commission (FCC)

During a press interview by the Filipino American Leadership Council (FALCON), Filipino doctors and nurses have been hailed by the FCC Commissioner Michael J. Copps as meeting the demands of the nationwide healthcare personnel shortage in the US.  He said that Filipino healthcare professionals are already an integral part of the US healthcare workforce especially in filling up the nurses shortage.

For a long time now, the Philippines is the number one source of foreign-trained nurses in the US and have made significant contributions to the American healthcare industry.  This is a welcome remark coming from an independent US government agency despite the bad remarks made to Filipino doctors by the TV show, Desperate Housewives,

It’s good to know that.  And I hope that this will continue.
